How to rent a car

Car rental process as a renter

Updated over a week ago

From version 7.3.0 of the app, you have the opportunity for both daily and long-term car rental (also known as subscription).

In the app, you can rent a car on the Cristo Share page. To rent a car, you need to have your driver's license, identification and a credit card. You can read more about identification here.

In this post you can learn about the whole process of renting a car, from searching to the evaluation after returning the car.

Search a car

You can filter cars by brand, date, and even location, making it easy to find the right vehicle for your trip. You can browse the available cars in a list view or even on a map.

To use the filter, click on the top blue bar, where you can switch between occasional and subscription types. Occasional rentals are marked in blue, while cars available for subscription are marked in green. If a car is available for both occasional and subscription rental, then the price marker's color on the map view will be half blue and half green.

๐Ÿ’ก When searching for occasional rentals, we also indicate if a car is available for subscription rental and vice versa.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ In map view, the price marker's color will be half blue and half green if the car is available in both constructions.

Booking a car

  1. Once you have found the desired car and marked when you would like to rent it, you can start the booking by clicking at the bottom of the page.

    1. If a car is available for both casual and subscription rentals, you can modify or choose at the car's page under the "Rental Type" option.

  2. Mark where you would like to pick up the car

  3. Enter the necessary payment details (bank card, billing address)

  4. Learn about the content of the rental agreement and accept it if you find it satisfactory

  5. By clicking the Booking button, you can initiate the car reservation. We will notify the lessor, who has 24 hours to accept or reject your reservation.

We will definitely notify you of the lessor's decision. You can see the status of the rental on the Cristo Share homepage, where clicking on it allows you to learn and follow the deadlines and events ahead. You can learn more about the deadlines and payment by clicking here.

Car Handover

Like everything else, this process also happens in the app. When it's time to pick up the car, you can do so as follows:

  1. Go to the agreed place at the prearranged time

  2. The lessor can start the handover/takeover process at the bottom of the rental page by clicking on the Start Takeover Process button in the app.

  3. Then, as the renter, a I take over the car button will appear on the rental page for you. Clicking this allows you to take pictures of the car's condition and start the rental.Rental as Renter

During the rental period, you can enjoy not just the rented car but also the Pro services of the app. You get a real partner for the duration of the car rental, which will help if you need to buy a parking ticket or motorway sticker, give feedback on your driving style, and let you review where you went with it. Moreover, you won't forget about parking fee payments, as it will automatically stop when you start driving. Don't worry, your lessor won't see where you travel during the rental period; they only see the kilometers traveled at the end of the rental. It's also advisable to use the app for payments at various services, as the end-of-rental report will include if you parked in a paid zone without payment or used a motorway section without a vignette, and it was not purchased through the app.

If you experience any problems with the car or an incident occurs during the rental period, immediately notify your lessor!

Car Return

When it's time to conclude the rental, the lessor can begin the car return process at the agreed place at the agreed time.

  1. The lessor can start the process by clicking on the Initiate return process button on the rental page

  2. Then, a report appears on the rental page, including the most important events during the rental. This report is for informational purposes to clarify any arising questions.

  3. After reviewing the report content, the lessor can take back their car by clicking on the Returnbutton. They can take pictures of the car's return condition and, if noticing any problems, can mark with your consultation how much they claim from the deposit.

Evaluation

Finally, don't forget to rate the lessor and the car based on how satisfied you were with them!

On the Cristo Share page, only individuals who participated in the rental as renters or lessors can leave a review, so you won't encounter false feedback or reviews.
