During the process of car rental, both the renter and the host can decide to withdraw from the renting/lease for some reason. To avoid any inconvenience, we have developed a set of rules to help the contracting parties understand when and under what conditions they can terminate the rental agreement.
Cancellation of car rental before the handover
Cancellation 48 hours before the start of the rental period
If the host accepts the renter's request but later either the renter or the host decides to cancel the rental, they can do so without any consequences until 48 hours before the start of the rental period, and the full amount held on the renter's card will be released. The rental can be cancelled by the renter after opening the details of the rental by clicking the red Cancel button below.
Cancellation within 48 hours before the start of the rental period
However, if either party wishes to withdraw from the hosting but before the start of the rental period, within 48 hours before it, depending on the type of rental, the following situations may occur:
Withdrawal as a renter
If you withdraw as a renter within 48 hours before the start of the rental period, but at least 3 hours before the rental begins, the following rules apply to you:
A) For occasional rentals, you must pay a full day's rental fee
B) For subscription, you must pay 1/30th of the total rental fee
If you cancel the contract as a renter within 3 hours before the start of the rental period, the following rules apply to you:
A) For occasional rentals, we require the payment of two days' full rental fee (in case the rental is only for one day, then only one day's full rental fee needs to be paid.)
B) For a subscription, you are required to pay the equivalent of 2/30ths of the total fee.
As a renter, if you decide to withdraw from the rental, you can do so by clicking the I refuse to take over the car button.
Withdrawal as a host
A) For occasional rentals, as a host, you are required to pay an amount equivalent to one day's full fee β
B) For subscription, the host is required to pay an amount equivalent to 1/30th of the total fee β
If you wish to cancel the rental at the time of handover, then depending on the type of rental, the following applies:
A) For occasional rentals, as a host, you are required to pay an amount equivalent to two days' full fee β
B) For a subscription, the host is required to pay an amount equivalent to 2/30ths of the total fee
As a host, if you decide to withdraw from the rental, you can do so by clicking the I refuse to hand over the car button.
Interruption of an ongoing car rental
Interruption of an ongoing occasional rental
A) If there is less than a month left of the rental period, or if the contract was originally for less than a month, then both the host and the renter can only terminate the rental agreement with a reason. β
B) If there is more than a month left of the rental period, it is possible to terminate the rental without a reason, but with a one-month notice period. If the contract is terminated by the renter, they are required to pay the rental fee for the entire agreed rental period.
Interruption of an ongoing car subscription
For an indefinite car subscription:
If the renter terminates the contract without reason during the minimum rental period, then the rental agreement ends at the end of the minimum rental period, and the rental fee must be paid until then.
If the renter wishes to terminate the rental agreement after the minimum rental period has expired, they can do so without reason, with a one-month notice period.
If the host terminates the contract during the minimum rental period, then the contract ends at the end of the minimum rental period. The host is not required to justify their decision.
If the host wishes to terminate after the minimum rental period has expired, they can do so with a one-month notice period, without having to justify their decision.
Interruption of a fixed-term car subscription:
The fixed-term rental agreement can be terminated by the renter with a one-month notice period, and the rental fee must be paid until the end of the rental agreement. They are not required to justify their decision.
The fixed-term rental agreement can be terminated by the host with a one-month notice period, without justification.
