Deadlines during the car sharing
Deadlines during the car sharing
Updated over a week ago

In this post, you will learn about the deadlines you can expect during car rental. If you book a car or if your car is booked as a lessor, you can learn about the specific deadlines related to that car rental on the booking page.

On the Cristo Share platform, the following deadlines apply after a rental request is made:

Acceptance

The renter has 24 hours to accept the rental request. If the start of the rental is sooner than this 24-hour deadline, they have until the start of the rental to judge the request.

Example:
If you submit your rental request on Monday at 10:00, the renter has until 10:00 on Tuesday to judge the request. If the rental starts at 18:00 on Monday, for example, the renter has until 18:00 to judge the request.

Booking a deposit

48 hours after the acceptance deadline, we will deduct 25% of the total fee as a deposit from the renter's card. If this time is later than the start of the rental, the deduction occurs at the time of acceptance. If this time is 20 days before the start of the rental, the deduction occurs 20 days before the start of the rental. If this time is later than the free cancellation deadline, the deduction occurs at the time of acceptance.

Example:

If the renter accepts the rental request at 22:00 on Monday, then 25% of the total fee is deducted from the renter's card at 22:00 on Wednesday. If the rental starts at 10:00 on Tuesday, for example, the deduction already occurs at 22:00 on Monday.

Free cancellation option

The rental request can be canceled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental. If this time is earlier than the acceptance deadline, there is no free cancellation period.

Example:
If the rental starts at 10:00 on Friday, the rental request can be canceled free of charge until 10:00 on Wednesday.

Reservation of the full fee

We book the total fee on the renter's card at the time of the free cancellation deadline. If this time is earlier than the acceptance deadline, this happens at the time of acceptance.

Example:

If the rental starts at 10:00 on Friday, we book the total fee on the renter's card at 10:00 on Wednesday. If the acceptance time was at 12:00 on Wednesday, for example, we book the total fee at the time of acceptance.

Advance payment and actual full charge

The actual charge of the deposit and the total fee only occurs at the end of the handover process. For the lessor, the rental fee is transferred at the latest by 10:00 AM of the working day following the start of the rental.

What happens if the debit/deduction fails

If there is a problem at any point, i.e. if the deposit or the full amount of the charge cannot be booked, both the renter and the host will be informed. In such a case, the host can withdraw from the contract within the app (i.e. refuse the rental) on the rental details page.
